The disease is an irreversible brain disorder that changes nerve cells resulting in the death of all brain cells. This does not occur in all aging processes because it is not part of aging. Alzheimer’s disease is a common cause of dementia. Dementia can be defined as the loss of a person’s intellectual abilities for example, remembering, thinking, and reasoning which are in severe forms hence interfering with daily functioning (Katie, John & Susan, 2002).
